Flame Robins in the snowfields

These birds are quite common in Carwoola in Winter but a message to birding-aus asked if they were often reported from the snow fields.

This image (orange icons are recent observations, blue icons are older records) ..

.. suggests that they aren't, but whether that means

• skiers don't bird, or 
• birders don't like snow; or
• Flame Robins don't like snow 

is open to debate.  A few folk have subsequently responded saying that they have seen the birds occasionally in the snowfields but not commonly, so it seems that the third bullet is the correct one.
